The Players United Agreement
Avaloth is a small realm, and every name you meet in it belongs to a real person on the other side of a screen. Games are for everyone. They’re a place to work together, to have fun, and to get away from the worst of the world for a while — not to bring it in with you. This agreement is how we keep it that way.
Everyone who plays agrees to it before they create a character. It’s part of the Terms & Conditions, and the realm’s staff enforce it.
1. We play together
Help the stranger who just walked into Hearthmere. Answer questions in the Hearth. Share what you’ve learned about the roads, the delves and the tables. The realm is better for everyone when the people in it look out for each other — rivals included.
2. Rivalry, not cruelty
Avaloth has fights, duels, bounties, sieges and a card table that will take your gold. Beating someone fairly is part of the game, and so is a bit of friendly gloating. But the game is between characters. Attack the character, never the person. Don’t hunt the same player over and over to drive them out of the game, and don’t pick on new arrivals who can’t yet fight back.
3. No trolling
Don’t bait people, wind them up for a reaction, derail the Hearth, flood it with spam, or ruin things for others just for the fun of watching it happen. If the point of what you’re doing is to make someone else’s evening worse, it isn’t welcome here.
4. Respect for everyone
- No harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation — in chat, letters, names, bios or anywhere else.
- No hate speech, slurs or attacks on anyone for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- No sexual content aimed at other players, and nothing sexual involving or directed at minors, ever.
- No names, guild tags or bios that do any of the above.
5. Keep it fair
- No cheating, bots, scripts or automation that plays for you.
- No using extra accounts to feed gold, items or wins to your main one.
- No exploiting bugs. If you find one, report it — that helps everybody, and we’d rather thank you than ban you.
- No buying or selling gold, items, wyrdstones or accounts for real money outside the game.
6. Keep it safe
- Don’t share anyone’s personal information — their real name, address, photos or accounts elsewhere — and be careful with your own.
- No scams, phishing, or pretending to be staff or another player.
- Never ask anyone for their password. Staff never will.
7. Stand up, don’t strike back
If someone breaks this agreement, don’t answer it in kind. Tell the realm’s staff — open a support ticket — and let them deal with it.
8. What happens if it’s broken
Staff may warn, mute, suspend or ban an account, rename a character, or take back gold and items gained unfairly — depending on what happened and how often. We try to be fair and to listen, and you can ask us to look at a decision again the same way you’d report a problem. Serious breaches, like threats or anything involving the safety of a minor, can mean an immediate ban, and where the law requires it we will report them.
Leave the realm a little better than you found it. See you on the road. — the keepers of Avaloth
